The seam is two lines like an "eleven" at your butt so it looks awkward in thin tight pants. It's very thick so it shows through. Still I was not having much luck and I bought these without much hope of them working either. I put them on for the first time one cramp filled morning with some caution, carefully keeping my tampon schedule throughout the day. But that evening that went completely out the window when a family member was brought to the ER and I rushed over. Changing my tampon was the last thing on my mind and it was hours after it would have started leaking before I remembered at all. To my shock, and delight, there was not even a smudge of blood on my jeans. (Family member is fine too btw, :)Since then my confidence in them has only grown. I still wear tampons on my heaviest days but don't feel the need to change them nearly as often since I know the underwear will take care of any leaks. I can now sleep well at night knowing I won't have to deal with any blood stains in the morning. My only complaint about them is the hem around the hips tends to flip down. So they might be great leakproof quality... but I didn't find out. Because they have thick seams down the back of the underwear that would be extremely uncomfortable.
